Bumbu Bali Menu
The extravagant beauty and delights of Bali extends to its very difficult to find cuisine. We are delighted to serve you “only” authentic Balinese cuisine in a traditional crafted village setting. Two decades investigating and documenting Balinese cuisine are the foundation in the style of cooking served in our restaurants. To further enhance the quality of our dishes we spend daily hours at the local markets to source the ripest fruits, garden-freshest vegetables, and fish that is caught the same morning. This together with our highly trained service and kitchen team will ensure a most memorable dining experience.
Over the last two decades we have spared no effort to experience and explore Balinese food and every day culture. Countless market visits and journeys to many villages, homes and ceremonies have set the foundation to bring to you a part of Bali’s delightful culture that is extremely difficult to find. No effort has been spared in creating a place of discovery, friendliness and comfort. It is our aim not only to share with you the very best food Bali has to offer, but also let you into the many secrets of a true Balinese home.
Paon – Kitchen, The heart of the restaurant
The kitchen is usually a fairly simply structure, normally located in the southern part of the home compound. Earthen charcoal-or wood burning stoves are built along the rear wall and pots and pans are slung overhead. Traditionally there would also be a large earth ware water-storage jar, though a piped in water supply is more common in most areas today. Without question this is the heart and soul of Bumbu Bali. Here our long time trained kitchen team carefully prepare all the delicious meals for our hungry visitors.
Serving Bali’s finest Cuisine
Recognized as the leading Balinese Restaurant on the island and the recipient of numerous awards, Bumbu Bali is your guide into the many culinary treasures our island paradise has on offer. Our daily fish and vegetable market visits are a guarantee that we serve you only the finest ingredients found on Bali.
Since opening Bumbu Bali, Restaurant & Cooking School in 1997 we have been awarded numerous times as one of the leading restaurants in Bali. Strangely enough after 14 years we are still the only authentic Balinese restaurant in Bali. Unfortunately in Bali’s mythic culture eating is very much a solitary affair, and locals mostly just eat to fill their bellies. Then the fact that Indonesia in the past did not manufacture ceramic prevented people from serving food as the Chinese did for millenniums. We take incredible pride in presenting to you Bali’s food culture in its original authentic way. The only alterations we do is in the presentation, as we take only the finest ceramics the island’s artisans produce.
We look forward to take care of you during your escape from reality.
